Kim Raath joins Imperative Global as CTO

ESG technology startup executive Kim Raath has joined Houston-based Imperative Global, a market-leading carbon offset project developer and operator, as the company’s chief technology officer.

As CTO, Raath will be responsible for building out the company’s tech stack as they look to optimize not just monitoring, reporting, and verification, but the full carbon asset lifecycle from project identification to offset market interface.

Raath was previously CEO and co-founder of Topl, a purpose-built blockchain infrastructure designed to increase coordination and efficiency in ethical and sustainable value chain ecosystems and to unlock innovative ESG financing mechanisms across industries. She is also a board advisor to Xpansiv, the leading global market for ESG-inclusive commodities, a member of the CNBC ESG Council, and an advisory board member of Rice’s Center for Computational Finance and Economic Systems (CoFES).

Raath has worked in over 18 developing countries to rebuild and strengthen communities by implementing innovative forms of technology. Her ability to digest, translate, and transform ideas into action has made her a successful leader and executive. She comes from an ethical mining and sustainable agricultural background with roots in South Africa and holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from Arkansas State University and is the first Rice University student to simultaneously complete a professional master in economics and a doctoral in statistics.
